I have been told you can make one from foam from Homeless Depot.Other than that you need a parts machine.Is the one you have all cracked and dried up?Sometimes you can bring them back to life if they are just dry.

You can also adjust the latch tension so it seals better, but unfortunately I do not know of a source of replacement gaskets for this old of a washer and if you found someone that had NOS parts they may be is as bad shape as yours.

YES; All those suggestions are great - but I have gotten NOS gaskets in good shape, I was hoping jetcone would have something? replacement parts were still being made years later until the larger capacity machines were produced. ALSO looking for a early hamliton gas dryer - would consider trading - I have a 50 Bendix and a 1967 EASY electric dryer - both in working condition.

I had the same issue with my 1947 Bendix washer.Then an idea hit me.I went down to the local bike shop and got a small inner tube.The size was 9" or so I cannot remember.Anyway,I just cut the valve out and slipped it on.Problem solved.Water tight.No leaks.Used it like that for years.And its still on there.I just googled small inner tubes and there are a ton to choose from.And super cheap.Hope this can help you.,John
