First post on the new interface - hope this looks ok in the end...
Every few years I go on holiday with my mum. We usually rent out a flat in a costal town on the north sea coast where my family has been going since basically the dawn of time.
I would lie if I didn't say I was drawn to this flat because of this DW.
It's basically a typical BSH DW - just the compact DWs, built into the size of a typical oven (60cm by 60cm - there's a 45cm height version as well).
It cleans like you would expect and dries surprisingly well.
It's by no means quiet - mostly because there's nothing underneath it and it couples a decent chunk of noise to the cabinetry.
But neither is it incredibly loud.
A few things stick out though. The racking isn't great - maybe it's just the dishes, but you have to leave out that one specific slot for plates as they hit each other because of the small rod of the rack itself.
This does have a heat exchanger it drains at the beginning of the cycle - but it will always cavitate heavily before it starts filling further and that is quite noisy.
In general, it doesn't appear to be much adapted compared to its big brothers. I don't think the soil sensor has been adapted at all for the smaller load sizes in this - if you don't run it on VarioSpeed, the Auto cycle basically always runs the same 2h cycle - at least it did the 5 or so times we ran it on that.
And it tends to leave a weird "scum line" at the front edge of the tank.
One thing the parts list mentions is a flow diverter, which appears to be activated electronically.
But I don't think I've heard it doing that at all.
Maybe it's just active on the rating cycle?
But on Auto it appears to run both arms at once - and on VarioSpeed on all other cycles as well.
