Us Easy Freaks are comin' out of the walls for this one

Who cares who gets it as long as one of us does. Imagine seeing this beauty in action.
The clothes spiraling by, the water hurling out the holes flying by. I can't wait.

OK OK You twisted my arm!

I'll bid as the auction gets closer to ending. I've always wanted an Easy Twin, and I can't think of a better one to get, just so long as the price stays low.

If someone else wants it, PLEASE SPEAK UP! I don't want to take something someone else wants and I don't want to artificially drive up the price in the process.

Dave

I wish I could---

aford the S&H on this but due to the exporting from mainland to here. It would be outragiously expensive. If things weren't that severe,I would have had it already. I only hope that someone in this club not only wins it for a reasonable price but that they also record the unit in full operation and share it with us. I seriously doubt that it has done anything more than a bunch of "EASY" promotional ping pong balls in a tub of clean tap water. It looks like a display model that would do that. Now that we are witnessing this gem,it makes me wonder if there may be more of these somewhere else.you never know, right Robert????!!!! LOL

Hey Brian, about yours not having faucets:

Here was the Easy line-up for most years:

The basic model had no faucets, but a drain hose. Also you had to fill and rinse with your own hose.

Next up, one faucet for the fill and rinse, and still a drain hose.

After than, two faucets: one for draining and return suds to the washtub; the other for filling and rinsing. No control for the spinner drain on this one. The spinner drain was always open. People complained about the constant gurgling. And when fabric softener arrived, you had to shut off the whole machine to hold water in the spinner. No drain hose.

Finally, the Big Momma, with a control for the spinner drain. Two faucets, no hose. In earlier models, the spinner drain was controlled by the big handle on the right in the picture. It has 3 positions CLOSED OPEN SPIN. The upside-down handle in the middle controls the washtub drain. Some years' models featured two handles.

There were changes from year to year. Some basic models did not have the needle spray cone rinse. In those, you'll find a ceramic disc/ post that looks a lot like the Calypso wash-plate. In these models, you did a power flush rinse.

It's hard to tell if this machine has the CLOSED OPEN SPIN option or the constant drain. My Aunt Marge's was made a little later, and was identical except that the drain control had evolved into a nice white up/down lever just below the timer. And hers was marked CLOSED , etc. When OPEN, the gurgling is comforting, but Consumer Reports whined about it. The joke was on them because they bought the wrong model for testing, and couldn't shut the gurgling off--haha ;'D

There's more but I don't want to put anyone to sleep. Maybe in the next movie. A good friend in the club suggested a movie on washing a load in the Easy, start to finish, with a spin rinse and a power flush rinse. I would love to do that for Christmas.

Many Years ago!

The guy that had the washingmachine museum had a 1915 or 12 Easy with a glass side and the plunger action.Maybe they made these only once in awhile.I remember as a kid Sears had a wringer with a glass tub and they put those multi-colored plastic toys in it,they looked like big popbeads.I would luv to have that machine.I would rather watch that than whats on TV. Thinking out loud on my bike ride

We all have our washer fantasies. I mean how mean hours have we spent dreaming of machines. But I gotta tell ya, never once did I imagine this, and I've been an Easy lover since early childhood and all my life, and lucky enough to have owned a few.

I'm not up to going after this. And as you age, friends, you get just as big a kick out of seeing someone else get something marvelous as you would getting it yourself.

So then I thought, I hope the winner makes a big big flick, or maybe if someone close by, Rochester, Syracuse, Erie, gets it, Denny & I could film it for you.

THEN, the ideas came rushing. You have a mint Easy. This dream machine is glass and metal. What else is like this? A CAR A WINDSHIELD. The windshield molding is just like what were seeing in the pix, only today it's more subtle and refined. I have cousins who are ace car mechanics. They know collision people and glass people ;'>

And then, Hey! Wait! There must be some brother AWorgers who are equally knowledgeable in this area.

So what would it take and now much would it cost to customize an existing Easy to look like the dream machine. Any ideas. THANK YOU..... Mike

Too rich for my blood.

Geez, that got pricey quick!
I shall bow out on this one, however, if someone else here gets it, I might be able to go get it and store it. Please let me know if that will be necessary.

Thanks Tim, I appreciate your kindness, sadly this has gotten too expensive for me. If you do get it, however, might your current Easy be up for grabs?
Dave

A little tip to the Ebay bidders here: Don't get into a bidding war until seconds away from the end of the auction. Otherwise, you're unnecessarily driving up the price.

Dave, I emailed you last night, responding to your question

Here it is:

Hey Dave

I'd love to have it. Do you want to get it together and trade it back and forth year to year or something agreeable. I die for Easies, and this is beyond a dream.

Mike

Interesting, we both changed our minds.

Looks like this one's gonna disappear in a museum some place at the rate this auction is going. It would have been nice seeing it go to one of the members, at least we could have got a video.

Mine has a constant drain on the spinner tub, but the control dictates whether the wash tub drains into the pump and out. The weird thing is that it looks like they cut the hose off the back of that round metal piece in the back with the quick connect and placed it directly on the pump. Taking the plate off the back reveals a cut hose that oddly matches the cut end of the hose on the pump. It looks like my drain hose was really supposed to be a fill hose. I will take pics this week and post for everyone to see what I am talking about.

Glass Easy twin tub

I am bidding on the glass easy don't worry everyone con come & play with it @ the fall 2010 washin in beltsville maryland. I have a working 1952 easy twin tub deluxe with built in inlet water filter i am trying to give away i offered it to Brain in NJ but have not heard from him. If anyone else wants it let me know I don't need two John.

Glass

I wonder if it is glass or plexiglas,it does look as if it was used probably of course for a demo. The paint on those machines is so thin.I repainted my Easy wringer, and my twin tub really needs it. Good Luck Bobby

HI Bobby!

Was plexiglas around back then --late 40's. I have no idea, but it looks like real glass.

I think Greg recommends oil base deck paint for washer. We'll have to ask him. I have a patch on my Easy that needs covering. We want to make iit perfect.

If Jon Combo Le Fevre wins the bid, we're all in luck. GO JON GO
