1950s GE Fridge Rubber Door Seal

Hi, am wondering if anyone has any idea if there is any replacement gasket/door weatherstrip for the door seal of old refrigerators? If not, any other ideas as how to replace and/or repair it?

That uses a compression type gasket. You will need to match up the profile and size. Antiqueappliances.com sells them, and I also saw them listed at Webstaurantstore. They are sold either by the foot, or in a roll. You measure and trim them to fit.

Todd, was that fridge on SF Bay Area CL?  I was "watching" one and the ad disappeared this morning.  That gasket issue looks the same as what it appeared to have.   Or is this a common trouble spot for GE's of this type?

I've gotten replacement door gaskets from McMaster-Carr in the past. Cheaper than from the appliance repro places (I think they buy and resell from McMaster-Carr or another supplier)

I have a '48 GE single door, got it about 10 years ago from a neighbor who was moving out and was going to scrap it. I got a length of replacement door gasket, can't remember from where, and still have to install it. Probably should now that I have plenty of time. The fridge seems to work fine,

That gasket was still made as of 15 years ago. Check around, my appliance store ordered one in back then, for my 1948 GE, which is the same gasket as yours.
