Those are beautiful

Whooooa, a 1958 L-110 Westinghouse Laundromat set in turquoise no less. Those are incredible. This will be an interesting auction to watch. I wonder what the condition of the washer door boot is?

Holy cow!!! I believe that model was the last year of the slanted tub in Westy front loaders. I love the styling - one of my favorite Westy washers. And a matched set in Turquoise, no less. Calling Mr. Jon Jetcone!!!!!

Repairing them

Ok Im somewhat mechanical and the repairs sound simple to me, but could these machines be worth fixing for normal use again? I would think so but can you still find parts?

Hi Bob...I said slanted tub, not slanted front. ;-) I think it was 59 that Westinghouse put a true H axis tub in their slant front washer...the program computer Laundromat.

Wow

Those are awesome! Turquoise is my all time favorite appliance color. Someone please save them!

Mike

So near... but yet so far!

The first set of classic machines I've seen locally since moving here to Phoenix... but way beyond my my reach as far as repair. Wish I had the knowledge (and the tools) which would allow me to get them back into shape!

Great Ad Greg

It is so cool to see these. I always wonder how many people actually got appliances from the books.
I remember my dear Grandmother was saving her books to get a window unit air-conditioner. My Grandfater told her that this was the only way they would get one, because he felt they were a waste of money.
Well, she was just 1/2 book short, and they quite the Gold Bond Saving program. She was so upset. Really upset. So much so, that my Grandfather when to Western Auto and bought on credit a Wizard room air-conditioner. That this was huge, and was so darn cold! You could not stand to be in that living room for very long!
Thanks for the post.
Did they have any stamps and books there?
Brent

I don't remember stamp-book collecting and the prizes very much, they weren't as popular around here I guess. I'd never even heard of Gold Bond stamps until I saw this catalog. I rememeber S&H Green Stamps, but almost never see any books or catalogs at sales here.

The lady with the combo has a look of "This tiny pile takes THREE HOURS?!?!"

Westy Slants Fronts In Phoenix

Hi guys. Nate is in Pennsylvania till Wednesday. I emailed seller to see if Roger and I can drive to Phoenix to check out machines. Nate, Roger, and I have limited space and I already have two Westy slant fronts but I would like to check out this pair in person

Westinghouse L & D 110

These are really neat machines- Hi everyone, Robert here, I bid on them this morning- but if the price goes out of my range, I am really happy to know that these, along with the Wash-n-Dry Laundromat still really exist!!Who is Sneaker?! I am of the opinion that these are 1957-58 The L100 series was 1956-as the L100M- (the M series went to 3 belt, but the early cheap models, LS7, LS8, L104, had the 3 belt system too) But my L102 has a speed changer...hmmmm... who knows how to date these by serial code?!?I would really love to add these to my FAMILY!!!
