Hi all:
My wife and I just moved into our first home (see also: my other thread about our Maytag A608). This was an estate, and the previous owners had lived here for 60 years, having built the place themselves.
So, as with any estate, we're now the proud owners of some really cool vintage stuff. One of those things is a 1954 Frigidaire Filtra-matic dryer. The only reason I have the 1954 date is because the owners were very meticulous about their records-keeping, and I have a "hang card" and original booklet/manual that apparently came with the machine. They wrote "1954" on a Post-It Note on the sleeve that the booklet was in, and that date aligns with the build date for the house (1952) and the copyright date in the booklet (1953).
I don't know if it's against forum rules to ask "how much is this thing worth?", but I don't really know what to do with this thing. It's in pristine condition - there's not a mark or scuff on it, no lint - and I guess it works but I'm hesitant to turn it on.
Any thoughts? I guess these things probably show up at estate sales and on eBay from time to time.
