I have that Philco with the same chip out of the console! Congrats! Is that new rubber in there? Mine is completely disintegrated.

Thanks

to all for your kind compliments. I've been working hard this week to get all these machines ready for use. There are a few minor details to work out here and there but that's miniscule.

Seriously guys, I have to be done collecting. There is no more room for installing machines, and I'll not have a cluttered basement.

Robert's right about it being a '61 and he's sending me a filter -- YAY!

PeterH770, all the rubber is original. I'm keeping glycerin on the rubber when I'm not using the machine as to help preserve it. I'll bet if you could locate a fabricator and were will to pay, they can make you a new flapper.

Philco

That machine had set on the floor of an old store for at least 30 years or more, its amazing the rubber was as good as it is,the other Philco I found there was beautiful, but the rubber was dry rotted, it was older, similar to the one Robert has,but with a timer that had a rolling scroll like dial, very fancy, im so glad you got this one Joe,and the Filtrator too,I dont know who got the other one,a friend sold it for me on e.bay...hope I find some more of these treasures.

How does it work?

The Filtrator heats with calrod's in the upper left portion of the dryer, this in turn heats the dryer tub. A fan driven off the drive motor draws air thru the tub down and across the filtrator tubes, the condensed water in the tubes falls to a collection tray below that is emptied at the end of the days use.

Great looking machines! Congratulations, and thanks for the detailed pixs!
