Hi.
I acquired a 1955-56 "50th Anniversary Edition" Hotpoint fridge about 5 years ago. Worked amazingly well up until a few weeks ago. My freezer stopped freezing the way it used to. Only mildly cold. However, the lower fridge portion cools normal.

I did hear a funny bubbly gurgle noise coming from inside the walls of the freezer a few days ago.
Looking at the freezer exploded view in 2nd photo ad, it seems like the freezer coils wrap around the floor and walls of the compartment. Do these coils break?

Are there repair schematics of this particular model to show a repair technician?

I LOVE and treasure this fridge as it's such a statement in our home and want to keep it running as long as possible.

Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direct. I greatly appreciated this site.

Model # 25EW115
Serial No. 0291276

Beautiful, hot point refrigerator

Unfortunately, if it's running all the time you have a serious situation on your hand, it's either got a leak in the refrigeration system, a clogged filter dryer, but most likely a bad compressor.

It needs serious help, David Turbokinetic in Alabama would be the best person to fix it if you want to try to save it.

Too many variables, I don't have enough information

Almost always when a refrigerator isn't staying cold enough in the freezer. It's running 24 seven, if it's turning on and off how much of the time do you think it's running, you might just have a bad thermostat the thing to do in this case is to bypass the thermostat and see if the freezer gets cold enough.

If you're not comfortable doing this, get a service person to figure out what's wrong with this refrigerator.

Let us know what you find.

Thank you.

Is there any particular DIY videos on bypassing thermostats for hotpoint/ GE units you'd recommend? I'd love to learn how these machines work so I can keep them healthy. Either way I will search for answers. Thanks again.
