I've loved these forever! Regrettably this one is incomplete, needs a lot of help and seller says it doesn't cool. At least it's only $50….good price for the adventurous restorer...

That ebay one a few years back...

was green. If I recall, it was priced at something like $4500. Hopefully anyone considering the red one I posted will have their awareness up. It's clear how much that thing is gonna need….and finding all the stuff will be damn near impossible….a real waiting game for stuff to show up.

It reminds me a lot of the Philco fridges from that same period, but yeah, that thing is in rough shape.  It might have a future in someone's garage -- as a Prius.

Parts dry up...

Robert, my guess would be mid 80s at the most recent. But that'd be based on where in the U.S. someone was living at the time….I used to go to scrap yards/auctions/junkyards with my dad in California and by the mid 80s there were noticeably fewer appliances than 10 years previously. These things are obviously still out there, but it's a real scrounge around to locate anything on your own without a network…but like Ralph mentions above --"Prius". It's unbelievable how much metal from the States has become China-bound in the last 20 years.

I'd think where this Amana is concerned, the only way to fix one up today would be to find an identical model (probably in the mid-west) or via another AW member who had to foresight to stash tons of stuff away.

The Amana logo on the inside looks oddly out-of-place and modern. I know it's the logo they used until the end, but I'd never guess it went that far back.
