1956 Frigidaire Dryer

I have purchased the 1956 "Pulsamatic" dryer that Hans had. It has a completely different configuration than the Filtrator. It has open coils instead of calrod elements and also has a different thermostat setup. The heating element is not turning off (even when the machine is turned off). I was wondering if anyone has a tech talk which covers this dryer. Any ideas and help will be appreciated. Thanks
