I've been working on restoring this 1956 Cycla Fabric washer for over a year as time allowed. It was taken apart almost to the last screw.
The gearcase was overhauled, the basket drive had parts replaced. The main drive motor was also serviced with a new capacitor.
Thanks to all that offered their help with some of my previous posts, especially Jon (combo52) and also swestoyz for researching the drive block.. I was having trouble uploading some videos, it was saying they were too large but I'll see if I can figure it out and upload some more.

I do have two issues:
1) As it starts the drain cycle, it fills with water, but not right away. See video during drain cycle. Was this normal for it to fill during drain for this model?
2) The end of cycle bell keeps ringing sporadically, during fill, rinse, and spin. Could this be a bad spot on the timer that is causing this? Anyone have any ideas?

Here are the parts that were replaced:
383921 - Spin Tube
285134 - New Centerpost bearings and seals
358277 - New solenoid valve
350365 - New drain pump
357871 - New power cord, machine was also grounded properly
94726 - New cam bar spring
95405 - New belt
285672 - New spring seal kit for transmission
16015 - Shift arm spring
354244 - New lower brake drum lining
350507 - New upper break drum lining
387947 - New drive block
17288 New water level hose
76673 - New tub bolts and washers
21114 - Pump discharge hose
16209 - Agitator Drive collar
21366 - Basket Lock nut
383727 - Center post grommet
360840 - New main transmission drive pulley

Both of those issues sounds like a timer problem. I'd open it up and check both the contacts and levers. Sometimes a lever needs to be bent back into place.

Wow the machine looks just beautiful Tom! I agree with others as it sounds like a timer issue. The reason it doesn't fill at first, during the start of drain, is it wont start to fill until after the pressure switch is reset by the dropping water level. Once the pressure switches clicks over to empty (versus full) the fill starts. This is most likely because the fill contact arm in the timer is not pulling away from it's mating contact like it should. You'll have to figure out which contact is causing the bad fill, there are two of them one for wash fill and different one for rinse fill. You'll have to bend the contact slightly to make sure it doesn't touch it's mate until fill is actually called for.

Time to open up that timer.
