I recently picked up this Kenmore washer. I believe it to be from about 1957. I plugged it in and did a dry run with it and it appears everything is working on it. I have not hooked up water to it yet.

Really nice score ! I love the old rounded cabinet KM/WP washers/Dryers. Can you do a full cycle video of it ? Or should I say would you be willing ?
I did a partial video of the dry run. I would be willing to do a full video, when I have the water hooked up to it and it is running properly.

Friends in Dallas had this washer. One of my earliest memmories of Kenmore washers. Neighbor had the dryer until around 1974 or so.

Should be a nice running Packard motor in there and the pot metal pumps had 4-blade main impeller for a little different sound sucking air when drain completed.

It’ll be neat to see more pictures of it inside and underneath, etc.. See how original it is.
As Brendan mentioned a lot of these used a Packard motor that had cast-iron ends they even had a steel ball under the shaft to support the shaft and rotor.
Some whirlpools in the 50s did use GE motors which were also good they had aluminum diecast ends.
