I recently picked up this Kenmore washer. I believe it to be from about 1957. I plugged it in and did a dry run with it and it appears everything is working on it. I have not hooked up water to it yet.
Should be a nice running Packard motor in there and the pot metal pumps had 4-blade main impeller for a little different sound sucking air when drain completed.
It’ll be neat to see more pictures of it inside and underneath, etc.. See how original it is.
As Brendan mentioned a lot of these used a Packard motor that had cast-iron ends they even had a steel ball under the shaft to support the shaft and rotor.
Some whirlpools in the 50s did use GE motors which were also good they had aluminum diecast ends.
