My mother has finally decided to part with her 1960 Turquoise Frigidaire Refrigerator and Electric Stove with French Doors with one exception. And that is that I find them a good home. Both appliances are in good working condition and have been well maintained. She even has the original Owners Manuals with the sales receipts. So, can anyone help me find them a good home?

Thanks

WOW!

I think your mother is a goddess for keeping that oven in such lovely condition and I can't help but think she is going to be a little sad that it has gone...

My parents had a Frigidaire Custom Delux Wall oven and hotplates (still have hotplates) from 1968. They were by GM-H (General Motors - Holden)....

Now my mother does tend to look after things, but these look like they are ready to install rather than been used for the past 49 years.

I think you have come to the right place to find a loving home for both items.

So what prompted your mom to replace these beauties considering she is so reluctant to let them go--and who could blame her?

Oh.My.God.

I haven't seen a French-door Frigidaire range since I was in grade school. A friend of ours had one, and I thought it was very cool, even as a kid. It may have been a little fussy to have to open and close both doors all the time, but very, very stylish.

Frigidaire has to take the checkered flag for the most awesome appliance designs. The period from about 1957-67 was stellar for them.

Frigidaire refrigerator

We had a very similar 1960 Frigidaire refrigerator in white from '69-'75. The door pulls were the same shape. It had come from my Grandparents' house. After we moved in '75 my Aunt took it and it ended up in a small cabin near a creek that they have on their property. That cabin flooded numerous times and that refrigerator survived just by unplugging it before the water reached it and letting it dry out before plugging it back in.

They finally scrapped it in the early '90's after the door gaskets went bad.

Wow, that French door range is very cool!
