Ok, so there's this problem with my Australian Hoover 460. a piece has broken in the suspension. this is most likely due to faulty repairs (at least one side) where you can see a previous repair was done with a washer way too big for the pivoting joint. I've tried 3d printing parts but with not much luck as one has snapped. could be due to my design (will try something later) but if there are any original parts floating around id like to have them. Both of the parts are damaged, one is in better shape than the other.

I've also thought of making the same part in metal in a lathe to give it no chance of breaking but it could cause the suspension to behave weirdly. photos of my design and the parts below.

Wait to see what the UK guys say, but I think the suspension might be unique to the Aussie models??

There is a small chance I might have a spare set, don't hold your breath. Will be a couple of days till I can look.
I’ve had a look at a repair kit and it doesn’t seem too different at all.

If you do have any I’d be most interested in photos of them. I know on all fix electrical they had some post production (at least it seems) spring guides but only a photo of the outside not inside.

I think I could design something strong enough for this use case. I’m thinking of making the whole thing hollow except for the top so that could clamp around the shaft. At the moment the whole this is flush up against the shaft. I think this might cause more stress on the plastic.

On a side note I just replaced the front bearing and seal on this machine and now spin is a million times quieter. It’s a cool little machine.
