1960 House

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I would venture to say that's the original Frigidaire double oven and cooktop. That dryer exhaust to the outside sure is problematic with all that length and slight twist and turns.

That's a very nice house for the price - looks to be in excellent condition.

Since it was built in '60, that wouldn't be the original oven or hood. They look early - mid 70's to me.

Yellow sink appears to be a Kohler, in their Sunrise color.

Nice 60s House

The CT and Wall Oven might be original, but only if the house was built after 1966 when shaded avocado appeared.

Not a bad price, too bad you can't move the house to Maryland,.

In Maryland the average household income is $88,000 per year [ the highest state wide average in the nation ] You could pay cash for another house every year by living with friends for a year or so.

I don’t think it’s original

The Zillow listing says this house was built in 1960 and based on the decor and style, I think that’s right. I bet the lady of the house wanted the latest color “avocado” and had the oven and range hood changed out. It seems like the cooktop is gas and possibly stainless steel/chrome. Definitely not a Frigidaire.

Vent

Wow! That dryer vent is crazy!! The price is fairly inexpensive even for Bartlesville. I would imagine it is priced with the assumption that the buyer will want to gut the entire house. Very said, because it really does appear to be in very good condition!

Can't Even Buy a Garden Shed.....

.....for that price in the San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley.
2 bedroom, 1 bath homes routinely sell for over 1 million dollars.
CRAZY!
(Of course, we don't have to worry about tornados here - just the occasional earthquake!)

Really amazing price for what appears to be a livable 3 bedroom house with 4 baths and a 2 car garage. Here that would buy more like a 2/1 with no garage.

I do like the kitchen with the stone accents and those Fridgidaire ovens and that hood. The exhaust fan in the bathroom is nice too, as is the medicine cabinet.

Looks like it has ungrounded wiring though - I see two prong outlets.

Yeah, you can't even buy a trailer for $89K around here. But I guess a few million people can't be wrong, or ours wouldn't be the most expensive real estate market in the nation -- outrageously so.

We lived for 18 years in a neighborhood that was built in phases from the mid '50s to 1960. Some of the later homes had similar exhaust hoods to the one pictured in the Zillow listing. I think that hood is original and was painted to match the avocado updates.

Nothing screams bad '70s like that hideous hanging lamp in the kitchen. Its flush-mount counterpart isn't just awful; it's stupid looking.

The knobs on that yellow sink would be considered a safety hazard these days.

$89,000 ! I don't live in an "expensive" area, but you may be able to find a double-wide mobile on a rented space for that price, but it would not be all that great. What a bargain! In my home town of San Jose, that house would be very close to $2,000,000...if not more.

There's a Swedish saying that IKEA is said to use as part of their business philosophy. It goes something like this..."make do or be satisfied with what you have". I think that easily applies to many parts of that very nice home.
