nice brochure Louis

Oh I love those AEG's, my favorite European brand! Was it common of machines of this era to have a solid door covering the glass porthole? I've only seen Asko do this and a few Miele models.

Hey Eddy,

No, most European frontloaders of that era just had the glass door. Even the cheaper AEG models didn't have such a door. As a matter of fact Miele never had such an arrangement, but they had the glass directly mounted on the solid door. The picture is from the web I think.

The spin

Hi Louis

I unfortunately do not speak german but I'm guessing the spin is 800??

Rob

Oh... what a beautiful AEG!

I love that machine! I have always felt that the the rubber hole (I mean "guarnizione") betwenn the cabinet and the outertub, tipycally used in a FL is the cause of hard vibration and noise during the spin, specially if the load is umbalanced! Now that system is used for EU TL too, differently from the past when the outer tub was independent form the cabinet...

That AEG machine had always amazed me, either because the outer tub (and the inner tub as well!!) is independent from the cabinet and either because with that big lid you have a counter which on you can pause your laundry while loading instead of stay ground! Like a FL Whestinghouse I saw on these pages some days ago...

Then AEG I think is not as popular for his quality as Miele is. AEG would be better sold...

GOOD BYE and THANKS for the sharing!

The outer tub is stainless as well, so says the ad Louis posted. I can`t read the spin speed....is it 530 or 630rpm ?
I am really tempted to bid for the one on EBAY in Germany, but don`t have the space.

Rob,

The spin of the machine on eBay in Germany is 800rpm. Don't know the speed of the British machine. Could be different.

Diomede,

Yes, the quality of modern AEG's is definitely not as good as the quality of the Miele's. However these older AEG's were built like tanks, there are still many of those machines around.

Stefan,

I can't read the spinspeed either.
