Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Tom,
You're correct. If the buyer opted for the "coolness" of having the pushbuttons on the range hood, he/she had to give up the clock/timer. Most times the range hood was paired with the cooktop, but I think all of the remote options were interchangeable.

I've always thought having the controls on the range hood was soooo kewl. If my home were set up for built-ins, I'd be looking for one of those setups.

That looks like a nice one, and in "Woodtone Brown". Too bad no window in door. These were based on the 27" wall ovens, and share many parts.

I have seen the Mark 27 in several different control configurations -

1. Integral - surface unit pushbuttons or knobs on the front panel, with or without clock.
2. Hood mounted - pushbuttons or knobs, with or without clock on front panel or backsplash.
3. Wall mounted - pushbuttons, with or without clock on wall panel or range itself.

My Aunt Doris had one in Almond, with integral controls (knobs) on the front panel, no clock, and manual clean oven with window. One of my neighbors has had two of these - the first a '73 model in Avocado that had pushbuttons on the hood, a clock in the backsplash, and self-clean oven with window. The one she has now was put in sometime in the late 90's, and is Almond with integral knob controls, clock and I'm not sure if it's self clean or not, but has a window. My friend Glenna C. had one put in during a kitchen remodel in '64 or '65, all I remember about it was that it was Coppertone. She liked it so well that when she moved in the mid 70's, she got one in Avocado with integral controls and clock.

I've seen these in every color GE has made after 1960, with the exception of Sand and whatever the gray color was called. Don't know if they were offered in those shades or not.

My parents house (built in 1967) had that stove with the controls integrated with the clock in avocado. I always liked cooking on it. They replaced with with a new GE a couple of years ago.
