Hello All,

I am currently working on restoring a Canadian built 1961 Frigidaire Imperial Dryer (Model DIAFC-61) I have stripped down the machine to clean it out do repairs to it etc. The model I have has a condenser built into the unit and I am looking to find a way to safely clean the condenser without causing any damage to it. I believe this is a necessary step since the dryer hasn’t been cleaned inside for many years. If someone who has experience with GM Frigidaire appliances could give me a recommendation I would certainly appreciate it!

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Not sure which kind of metal this is, but over here we just take our condensers into the shower with hot water.
Maybe some dish detergent.

Or, if it is resistant metal, a go through the dishwasher might be possible.

Hi Jackson! Welcome to the world of vintage washers and dryers!

I have 2 older Frigidaire filtrators and clean the condensers under running water. This is usually enough but when there is clingy lint, I use a bottle brush.  I think you can still find those at hardware stores or in the mop & broom aisle of WalMart, Crappy Tire, or Giant Tiger.

I think PhilR got a similar dryer recently!
