Good morning everyone,
First post here, thank you all in advance for taking the time to read through this! Anyway, we just picked up this 1961 Imperial refrigerator from the daughter of the original owner. She got it when her parents passed away and said she was tired of looking at it after all those years. When we got to the owners house they had it plugged in and running, it was nice and cold. We loved it and brought it home with us! After getting it home, we let it rest for a day before plugging it in. We plugged it in and left it for a few hours, then started filling it with things. We moved everything over and it seems to be working great, it was a little too cold at first so we turned down the thermostat slightly, as our Brita water pitcher began to get icy. Turning the thermostat down seems to have alleviated the issue. A few questions for those of you with these, on the thermostat control, there is A, B, 1, 2, 3. Can anyone explain the A & B designation, I’m just not sure what these mean. Right now it’s running just at the 1 mark. Also, it seems like the compressor is running quite a bit. I’m thinking it may be because we just put a bunch of food in it all at once? And if anyone has any advice as to keeping this fridge happy I would love to hear it, as we want to keep it running great for years to come. Thank you all!
