Wow, on the same day (Friday) a cooktop and dishwasher that were in houses on the street I grew up on. This house this dishwasher was in was the only time I've ever seen this particular model. All the other GE dishwashers that were put in GE kitchens from late 1960 through 1962 were the typical GE mpodel witht the wite grill rather than this black grill. This particular kitchen was basically all white--white appliances and white cabinets (although I don't remember if the kitchen was fitted with the white GE cabinets or ir they were just white wood cabinets. Even the home's exterior was a white high gloss brick and had grey trim. Had a sunken living room with candy-stripe cushions on all the furniture in the living room. In fact, during Hurricane Carla September 1961 the owners discovered they were going to need a sump pump installed after that point in the event of further torrential rains.
Anyway the kitchen was obviously very nice as it had a GE cooktop, double oven and a GE bottom mount with some sort of automatic ice maker in the freezer? This is the same house that had the GE washer with the filter flo flume at 12 o'clock and timer dial and vertica toggle switches in turquoise and the GE dryer had the raised cntrol panel with black timer dial and the large single vertical white toggle start switch.

My family had the same dishwasher in coppertone from 1966 to the late 90's! A bit loud but super efficient! I replaced the machine with a GE when I sold the house in the 90's after putting my Mother in care. The whole kitchen package was from 1961. All GE with dinner dial oven, cooktop with controls in hood and refer with food pedal. Miss them still! Greg

It looks like an SU-66V (1961) floor model demo from an old appliance store or lumberyard. Looks almost unused.
The LAST thing I need right now is another vintage appliance to put into storage, but I just can't help myself.

"floor model" would describe the nice but unusual cabinet this dw is installed in.
I hope you get it and moreover, I hope you find a place to store it.
It should be reasonably light so you could carefully store it on top of something else.... maybe?

Method in my madness
It's always hard to pass up a coveted vintage appliance in "new" condition, but I'm also hedging for the future.
When I found some Pull-outs in the past, the installation cabinet or parts of it are in bad condition. If I ever find my uber-coveted 1961 SU-70V v. 2 dishwasher, this insures that it will have a good home.
(I still can't believe that I never checked the rating plate on our dishwasher back then...it was RIGHT THERE)
