Help Support :

In the same place...that's where! They've tried to sell these way overpriced babies here before. Look pretty, but they need work.

Oh Dios Mio!!

Not THESE again?!!! Well, at least he's moved a TINY bit from his last price. He screamed he wouldn't take ANYTHING less than $2000.00 for them!

$1990.00 is so much more reasonalbe. HA! LMAO

Note: the (scratched) washer does not drain and the (scratched) dryer overheats.

For two-thousand dollars, i want to see the agitator!

They either have a truly serious addiction to some powerful drugs or nned some serious mental health assistance! These Maytags look nice but not great.Who knows what kind of service will be needed and how costly that will be along with their off the wall asking price. No need to worry folks.Nobody in their right mind would ever pay that price for them.---I said "In their RIGHT MIND!" LOL

I think we did see a money shot that someone asked to see from the seller directly. Either a worn-to-black basket or iron stains in the basket, you may want to have an extra, nice basket lying around just in case.

That is, in case your mind takes a turn and you lose track of your senses. I paid $300 for a pink set and the dryer was the all-pushbutton model.

"antique wheelers"?

So many times I see people trying to make a mint on selling their own junk.Part of that is at the fault of we folk due to the excitemen and inerest we openly share with others who care nothing about OUR interest other than what they can do to use us for THEIRS---money.

When I lived in B'more,A girl who owned and operated a "tea room"found a small toy washer in somebody's trash heap. She cleaned it up and asked me if I was interested in it.Her discription was vague and I had, just 2 days prior to her call, been in the hospital for 2 months having major brain surgery done.I was realy in no way, shape or form ready to make a deal on junk with anybody. We had a few mutual friends and she had one of them bring it to me.It was not a priority for me to look at and/or buy it.After her insistance on my physicaly touching and seeing it,I called her a few weeks later and she was furious that not only had I waited that long but there was no way I was going to give her $90 for somebodies trash!!I physicaly hand carried it back to her and told her that nobody,I said nobody with a half a brain would ever give her more than $5 for that tin can piece of shit! She told me never to return to her "tea room".I told her the only "tea rooms"I was going to were full of bongs, joints and decent people. So,she wasn't welcome to mine either.lol

I had asked him for a 'money shot' a few times back when he listed them. The inside looked nasty. It was rusty or maybe iron stained as you suggested, either way, I'm sure the tub would have to be replaced.
Oh well, the postings are always good for a laugh! :)

I retract my earlier statement.I emailed and comunicated with the owner and was impressed with the units. He purchased them a while ago and spent a fortune not only for the pair but also the shipping cost. His price is not for profit but to make up the cost.I would never pay that much for any old set unless they were new in a box never touched.I once found a virgin gas Bendix dryer at a D.A.V.store.John LaFever from Beltsville has it.The store had written on it in red ink "Do not work, trash"It still had the shipping bolts and cover on the gas burner!I got it for free!

the reason...

...this set was so expensive was he bid against me when I didn't have a pink set. And I wanted the set. They were in great shape when offered by the previous seller. I told them that if they ever wanted to get rid of them to let me know. This guy's wife wanted to use them as everyday drivers since she was redoing the kitchen in pink. Anyway, I sent them specific instructions on how to rebuild both machines so they could be used everyday. They didn't. Instead they just ragged them out. They will need everything at this point and are total rebuilds. They also have new dents and scratches. When they were offered by the previous seller, they were very clean and MINT. I don't know what these people did to them, but they obviously didn't take very good care of them. Mark Lightedcontrols
