It is a beauty. While that Preway fridge on your other post is nice it doesn't jump out at me anyways like this one does.

My uncle bought a brand new home in 1962 and had this same fridge in coppertone. He was a neatnik (and a GE employee) and so is his surviving wife. I have not been to their house in years but I am confident that their fridge is still pristine and has not been replaced. If only GE still made quality stuff like this! Congratulations Rich!

It is missing the ice service that rolled out separately over the top basket so be on the lookout for a very shallow rack on wheels with a place for ice trays on one side and room for the shallow plastic bin beside them. On the far side there might be those little loops that held small cans of frozen orange juice. I don't know if this model had the automatically filling plastic flip over ice tray, but if it did, that might be why the whole assembly was removed.

A Happy Ending:

Well, as much as I would've liked having it, now is not the time in my life to be coveting such things.

So, I'm happy the turquoise beauty has a great new home with perc-o-prince, who will treasure her as I would.

the house was built in 1923 and is a "sears craftsmen bungalow" Its small but has nice woodwork and character. I wish they had left all the woodwork "natural/stained" vs. painted white but I sure am not stripping it so its staying white and thats fine. The house to my immediate left is identical and has all the natural woodwork inside.
