Need to make some space, I'm looking for a home for these two dishwashers. A 65 Kelvinator with Roto-Rack in shaded coppertone, and a 1966 Frigidaire Custom Deluxe in white. Both are in near perfect condition, and have had very little use.

Frigidaire inside shot

Racks perfect, Plastisol tub has NO rust at all.

I removed both of these dishwashers from use, and were working fine when removed. I saved them because they were in such good shape. Now I need to move them on to a new home. Not looking to get much from them, but would like them to move along soon, and find a good home. Pick up here is perfered. If interested please email me. Jeff

I know that Steve, "DUH", but I saw D&M product that was square top instead of rotorack more for the other brands aside from Sears. Just didn't know Kelvi was one of those few that did have Rotorack.

Awesome Dishwasher's Jeff!
They both look to be in great shape!
Talk about a re-badged name.
My best friends had a Kelvinator that was actually a Preway Gas Dishwasher.
I thought I was loosing my mind until I got back in touch with her and asked her if their dishwasher had a gas burner. She confirmed this with me, and said that the reason they replaced the dishwasher was because of rust around the burner. She then told me that I was so weird how I would sit on the floor after loading it for them and listen to it wash. She then continued to tell me that she wished I lived closer to her now so I could help her wash her dishes!

Super Surge---

Dishwashers were one of my favorites during my decades of "FRIGIDAIRE-ITUS" I liked the ease of loading and,my grandmother (Mom's Mom we didn't dare to call grandma but Mado instead)had the Imperial built in model along with the matching wall oven, cooktop and DeLuxe Jet Action 12 pound capacity washer. The frig conked out back in 1974 and she went to Sears to get a Coldspot. All the condos there had the same layout in their kitchen and laundry areas but,due mostly to abuse and missuse of the applainces there,my grandparents were the only ones who still had most of the original appliances built in to the units. My g'father was one of the maintanance men and the manager of the site.He did not like the washer and always called it their "thrashing machine"but it outlasted them both.He worked for GM (Chevrolet plant in Dundalk,MD.)56 years and was able to get 25% off all FRIGIDAIRE appliances but didn't take advantage of that until after he retired from GM.When they originaly lived with and basicly raised us as kids,I always hoped that,if any of our appliances ever broke down, that he'd go and replace them all with the FRIGIDAIRES.However, after my7 Mom's death,my g'parents moved and sold my dad their three shares of the house and got the condo. After being there 2 years, the owners credited my g'dad for the entire amount paid in full of the condo and let them live there absolutely free because he was like me and enjoyed staying busy no matter what the job.He would do everything from replacing appliances to painting, wallpaper hanging and burning the trash in their gas incinerator. He was rich as shit when he died because all the pension checks were never cashed and none spent. His pay at the homesite was in a huge 5 foot high Miller Beer bottle full of hundred, fifty and twenty dollar bills.

D&M?

I've never heard of that brand; only Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Kelvinator, and General Electric. Who were they? Do they still exist? Can somebody spell out the abbreviation to help familiarize me a little more? Thanks.

D&M, Design & Manufacturing. They made dishwashers that were sold under the Kenmore, Magic Chef, Norge, Gaffers & Sattler, Modern Maid, Caloric, roper, Kelvinator, Tappan and I'm sure others. White Consolidateed Industries bought them out.

Thanks for clearing that up, appnut. Can anybody give me an idea of how well a Roto-Rack works, compared to a conventional dishwasher? How common are these machines? How about the portables?
