1965 Kelvinator and 1966 Frigidaire dishwashers

D&M also made for Norge and even Speed Queen for a short time too. I had a Roper-branded D&M with digital (analog flip-tab) countdown readout and rapid advance timer.

Those are both beautiful dishwashers, Jeff. Do you have replacements for them already or really just clearing space?

I have been contacted by a club member who wants both DW's, so at this time they are being held for him.

I must make space in our garage, my washer collection is taking so much space that Cal's car spent all winter outside.

SoberLeaf will have some opnions on these matters, he just left with about 7 dishwashers. One is a Mobile Maid impeller roto-rack, a kelvinator D&M with a square top rack and dual spinner system, and a GMFR slant portable. I am wondering about GMFR dishwashers, you don't see many, can't wait to get an update on performance. matt

Oh, what is with the coppertone color on the Kelvinator, just lighting, or is it an odd shade?

actually i have had

2 sears roto racks in my life, one in college that i rebuilt, one i just got from tenn. last month. i have also had 3 or 4 d&m with the square top racks. two kenmores, one modern maid and this new kelvinator i just brought back from "everythingold" in michigan.

i love the roto racks best, the top really spins! and they clean well, the first 2 i had used a 1725 rpm motor but the sears i got has a 3450 rpm on it which means more water pumping! come to think of it i bought another d&m kenmore with a square top rack in 1987 and when i replaced the motor on it it went from a 1725 to a 3450 so they must have updated their motors to the higher speed version.

as said they clean well, i'm not sure which is better i just love the roto racks for the nostalgia and uniqueness of it all.

cycle times were short but with the sani heat option it was much extended as machine paused timer to heat water and wash action continued. but then i usually put a control switch on any dishwasher i intend yo use that will turn off timer so i can give it a longer wash or rinse if i want to.

parts are def available for the d&m pumps, i just bought a seal and gasket off the web. motors are too.

i like d&m machines but the only one's i really loved were the sears roto racks, the square top rack models never did much for me. but i did just pick up a kelvinator with a square top rack and i think it is pretty cool looking. i either like the machine or i don't!
