On a vintage machinery site I belong to is someone that has a 1965 pair of aqua blue Kenmore washer and dryer he wasnt to sell cheap or donate to a collector. They were installed new and came with the house when he bought it in 1978. If theres any interest in these I'll pass it on to him so he can create a profile here or you can just inbox me your email to forward to him. Thanks.

Yes, I agree these are 1964.  I don't think I've ever seen the matching washer & dryer together, just individual pieces unearthed over the years.

1964 LKMs

NICE, These are a 1964 style but the dryer was differently a 65 build machine as they did not come out with the electronic sensor till the 65 model LKM dryer came out and they produced a 64 style so people who bought the 64 LKM could have a chance to get the matching dryer.

We already have this beautiful pair in turquoise so I will not compete for these, This pair was one of my all time favorite LKM styles and when introduced the best style to date. I convinced my 6th grade teacher to buy this pair while I was in the 6th grade.

It even looks like the washer has a Suds-Saver, and the gas dryer is 37,000 BTUs of modulated heat, it will make very fast work of drying clothing.

OK, folks here I am, the proud owner of the matching Lady Kenmores. I have to thank robbinsandmyers for introducing me to this site...and pretty surprised to see my ladies up here. So the story... yes they are 1964 (washer 110.6405904/suds, Dryer 110.6407920). I did acquire them with the house in 1978. They have been doing multiple loads daily ever since. I have done maintenance and repairs as one would expect. The washer is now getting to the point that I see major problems on the horizon like tub issues that I just am not up for tackling. I would very much like the ladies to go to a public venue where they could be displayed, I am near the Henry Ford Museum and have some relationship with that organization and have offered the pair to them for inclusion in the domestic appliance collection. At this point I am only getting a "being considered" response. I told the wife that as long as the ladies keep on working they will stay, but of we have a major breakdown they will have to go. She gets new stuff. So at this time they are not available. But I will keep the group her posted of any change.

Beautiful set! I had a set of 1965 Kenmore 800's in turquoise when I first joined this site in 2003. I sold them, and always regretted it. The consoles on the 1950's and 1960's Kenmore machines were truly beautiful.

Hi Joe, glad you found your way here. Maybe if someone has a pair of Maytag dependable care W&D from the 80's-90's in great shape they could swap you for yours and you will have a solid pair of machines that will last much longer than new stuff and they can get your old ones to restore.
