Hi everyone! Hope you’re all well. I had a couple of king size comforters to wash, and the Speed Queen 8 series isn’t big enough for that task, so I’m at the Mr. Suds laundromat off of Southland drive. The washers aren’t anything too special; mostly Wascomat, with a few Dexters, Alliance huebsch TL’s and a couple of ADC units, all made within the last 25 years or so. However, the dryers are another story entirely. They are one year only 1967 Cissells. They were originally avocado green, but were unfortunately painted almond in the 80’s. The laundromat is undergoing some renovations, but I chatted with the maintenance guy, and he said that the vintage dryers are here to stay. There’s only one bank of 5 of them that are getting replaced, and they are going to become parts donors for the others, so they’ll be here for me to enjoy for a long, long time.
