Got the dryer connected to 220 tonight and the inaugural load is drying right now!

BTW, why does the drum light operate when the dryer is on? This seems silly to me. I also remember my mother's basic Kenmore 70 doing this.

The inaugural load of towels and jeans set at #4 came out beautifully dry in 45 minutes. I'm VERY pleased and IMPRESSED!
WHY THE DRUM LIGHT RUNS DURING DRY
It provides extra heat for faster drying, well if you don't believe that one how about, I think that the electrical wring design is a hold over from the dryer models that had an ozone light bulb. WP was still making some TOL models with an ozone bulb- 1974 and the drum light bulb was required to be on to provide the voltage dropping for the ozone bulb that was wired in series with the drum bulb. So I think they were all wired at this time to run when the dryer is running, [ but it really will dry a little faster with the extra 120 BUTs of heat that the bulb produces ] You can do an experiment with and without the light on and let us know the results LOL.

My 67 Lady Kenmore runs with the light on too. Good to know the real reason, added heat, I always thought the clothes were afraid of the dark.
Late to the game - but congrats Mark on a fine set of Kenmores. Certainly one of the best designs of a Kenmore panel.
