WHY THE DRUM LIGHT RUNS DURING DRY
It provides extra heat for faster drying, well if you don't believe that one how about, I think that the electrical wring design is a hold over from the dryer models that had an ozone light bulb. WP was still making some TOL models with an ozone bulb- 1974 and the drum light bulb was required to be on to provide the voltage dropping for the ozone bulb that was wired in series with the drum bulb. So I think they were all wired at this time to run when the dryer is running, [ but it really will dry a little faster with the extra 120 BUTs of heat that the bulb produces ] You can do an experiment with and without the light on and let us know the results LOL.
