Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I just saw a white Whirlpool version of this fridge on CL recently.  It appears to be newer, like mid-'80s (we had a SxS model with identical handles), and is $275 cheaper.

My Aunt had a Sandburg Ferrar Coldspot French door refrigerator from 1966 when her house was built, it had copper tone sides but the front doors looked like paneling and it had black barn door hinges on the 2 refrigerator doors. It was a cool refrigerator in its day. I remember my Aunt always complaining that she had to bend to get stuff out of the freezer but she loved that the vegetable pans were waist high in the fresh food section, so 2 years later when we moved my parents opted to go with an avocado GE bottom freezer with a pull out drawer. Our GE lasted longer than my Aunts Coldspot, she had to replace it in 1982, and we replaced ours in 1986, but ours was still running, we gave it to a neighbor for his garage.

How did the French doors seal in the middle on these models?

I'm not enthused by modern French door fridges because of the clunky center sealing systems they employ.

Thanks John.  That was a better system (in terms of door action) than the modern day types have (which I assume might ensure a more positive seal).
