1970s Hoover small appliances and an Electolux

I came across these very 70s adverts which I have added to my album. I thought you might like them.

Both my gran's had these products. My gran (still living) still has a Hoover Iron. My other Gran used to have a Electolux just like in this advert. I remember it working quiet well.

I like the Electrolux ad... thats a clean air machine? We did not have anything like that here in the USA.

Thats probably one of the most if not the most popular 70s upright we had that didnt have a HOOVER badge on!.

It is indeed a clean air machine and an absolutly fantastic performer. The 502 was the 2nd model in the series and ran from 1974 to 78ish(the 1st was the 500-identical except for colour. The same basic design evolved into the 80s with a multitude of different models and the last version went away in the early 90s.

As im mostly Hoover orientated I only own 1 model from the series, an early 80s 550- will get a couple of pics when I go up mums later and post then tonight

My parents had one of those Electrolux cleaners, or one very very like it.

Were hotpoint dishwashers made by Bosch even back then? It kind of looks like it from that picture.
