1970s Norge Dishwashers and Early Westinghouse Combo History

Just to let everyone know I loaded some super rare Norge dishwasher brochures from 1974 into the Ephemera Library. I've never seen a machine like this before and I suspect that this design might not have been made by D&M, but I'm not sure. If anyone has any insight about these mid-70's Norge dishwashers it would be interesting to hear.

I also just loaded all of the earliest service manuals for the Westinghouse combination washer-dryer from the years 1955-1957. Included is the first vented combo service manual as well...

Love 'em! Think one of my childhood friend's had an Avocado Norge Portable that I just never got to see hooked up, in addition to a few other apps' that made his folks: Norge Nuts!

The Georgia Power Company offered their servicemen a Westinghouse combo FREE, sometime in the early years of its production, just for maintaining and servicing it and, I was told by one of them, that they had no takers.

They were CSA approved! I guess that means they were sold here too? The tube at the back of the tub looks like those in most 3-level D&M dishwashers but it's located near the center while it's usually closer to the left corner. Was this an early D&M design or was it just similar?

Error in the Brochure

Has anyone else spotted the glaring error in the imagery in the Brochure?

The Control Panel on Page 3 where it talks about 10 cycles, only lists 8 and doesn't show the settings for Power Scour or Pour Scour Sani in the list.

I assume that that would be set for 1A and 1A+

They're beautiful brochure's Robert, the colours in the Norge are amazing.

Simply Gorgeous Norges !

The TOL Portable/Convertible has a "finished" real wood butcher block top, looks to be two inches thick, all shiny and shellacked. Fascinated by the cutaway of thick sound and heat insulation--looks like the stuff in my attic floor! But the best was the inward curving panels of jetting water--8 or 10 of them in layers--scouring the dishes.

Had to love the headbands and the outfits on the gals, especially the one wearing mustard shoes closely matching her beautiful new Harvest Gold Norge. Such stylish imaginative, sometimes even breath-taking advertising in the 70's, not to mention how amusing and satisfying. A real holiday treat, and stimulating reading-in-bed doctrine. We Portable People would go nuts if we ever found one.

It says they were made by Fedders, of AC fame, and I was expecting to see Borg-Warner.
