1971 Hotpoint Dishwasher Sales Manual

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Resistance was futile.

Interesting. Not quite completely assimilated. There are obviously still a bunch of Hotpoint components still in 1971 like racks, some of the wash impellers(the blackish ones) and some of the dispensers, but the Hotpoint is being phased out. I don't think Hotpoint ever had a top-loading machine. Those must have been mostly GE parts.

Robyn, you're the top!

WOW! Thanks. I have a HP convertible portable older than this, but with the traditional HP black wash arm with the pump under it like the front-load machines pictured here. I always wondered what the pot smasher cycle was like and now I know. Very different from the GE-made top-load portables. Again, thanks.

I am so glad that these have an audience.

Hey guys,

I'm really glad that you all are finding these interesting and informative. I don't know where the machines were made but I can tell you that the back of the book says "Hotpoint Dishwasher and Disposall Department General Electric Company
Appliance Park - Louisville, Kentucky 40225

From the sounds of things, I guess I'm figuring out why the dishwasher I want is going to be so elusive. All the Hotpoint fans out there cherish the older ones over the ones of this later time period. Oh well, the search continues. I just wish that vintage appliances would show up in the DC area more on Craigslist. I do searches for them but finding a 1950's Hotpoint of any kind seems rare around here.
