Dimensions Page - Last One For Washers

This page is actually page 12 of the flipped dryer side but I am posting it here since it also shows washer sizes.

Thanks for sharing this brochure. The last solid-tub Hotpoint I remember seeing new in a showroom was a BOL just like the one pictured in your brochure. It was at Castleberry's and I remember it because I had never noticed such an el-cheapo BOL of Hotpoint's before.(IMO the straight-vane agitator was a lot more agressive and capable than that spiral with the Fountain-Filter). I almost bought one just for the novelty and then thought the better of it because "who would ever want something like that"?!!!!!!!!!
Duh!
I 'shoulda got it!

HOTPOINT SOLID TUB WASHERS

They had some really cool features toward the end of the run of the solid tub. I would really like to get my hands on the Duo Tub washer. When I was repairing appliances in the mid 1970s there were still quite a few ST HPs around but I don't think I ever saw one after about 1984. They usually suffered from pump problems or oil leaks which went into the clutch even changing a belt meant rebuilding the water pump and the pump impeller was set screwed onto the motor shaft. Often the motor shaft was so rusted you would have change the whole motor, a lot of them just got junked.

I'm glad that folks are enjoying these.

I never would have guessed, but as I said to some of the folks who wrote asking for these, I learned long ago that just because something doesn't flip my switch doesn't mean that it's not The Holy Grail for someone else. How many times have I heard "Oh, I had that and threw it away because it wasn't my thing." and there I was searching high and low for the very same item.

If anyone does happen to have some 1955-57 Hotpoint dishwasher info, catalogs etc, I would really appreciate your posting it. Just LOVE those early Roll-R-Racks and the doors that have the wide wall/lip around the inside. I enjoyed the posting that someone did awhile back, showing the earlier Hotpoints with the upper rack that sits ontop of the lower one, but my favorite is the Roll-R-Rack. Whoever it was on here that has the gorgeous pink one..........I'm sooooo envyous that I'm turning shades of Avocado Green (And believe me.......that is NOT my color). LOL.

As soon as I can get to it, I will be scanning in the 1971 Hotpoint dishwasher sales manual that matches these.

Wow - very, very cool. I came across the repair info for these machines a few years ago. Have always been facinated with the last HP solid tub machines. Like many - I would love to find a duo-tub!

Memories.....

....those solid tub hotpoints remind me of my aunts machine from that era, although it was a JC Penney (Penncrest). Same interior works?

Robyn: Thanks a million for posting this excellent brochure! I've spent about 20 minutes reading through it.

Does anyone in AW-world have a Duo-Load Hotpoint? What a fascinating concept. Maybe not as practical as Hotpoint would like you to think, but still a very cool concept.

Don't forget the dryer manual

Hello Everyone,

I noticed that there hasn't been any activity on the matching dryer manual that I scanned in under a seperate posting last night. Didn't know if it got lost in the shuffle. I know threads can get lost if several come on together. I put it under 1971 Hotpoint Dryer Sales Manual. Those of you who love dryers might like that too.

Robyn
