Hi everyone! I though I'd repost some pics of my Dispensall after the wonderful catalog Robert offered in the Dispenser yesterday. I have been fascinated with this machine since I first saw it as a little boy in my neighbors house. I was thrilled to find mine 6 years ago and it was all because of my email and profile coming up when the previous owner googled "Dispensall" thanks to THIS website!

So here we go:
The Glam shot after I got it all cleaned up:

Lid and tank correspondences

you can see where the holes match up with the dispensers - upper right is for pre-wash and goes directly in to the filter pan. Also note the foam barrier to prevent water from entering and diluting the fabric softener or tripping the syphon too early in the wash cycle.

And there you have it!

I think this is one of the most elaborate and creative machines that GE has ever made! It gives me hours of entertainment and loads of clean laundry!

I'd love to see pics of other people's models as I know thy evolved over the years. I think they made these from 1974-1977, but correct me if I'm wrong...

Wow those are great pictures Matt! Is you machine exactly the same as in yesterday's Daily Doctrine? It looks like it from the pictures.

to be honest...

it IS a chore and I see why they were done away with. The Bleach dispenser as it was originally designed - in the tank - is constantly getting clogged with lint. I noticed on John Lefever's Dispensall that his is a later model and the bleach dispenser is simply a ramp that diverts it into a separate tank that had a solenoid timed release. This makes more sense but kinda makes the whole lid dispenser concept seem silly, when you consider that they offered all of these dispensers in various other ways in previous models that probably worked better. The solenoid release Fabric Softener dispenser couldn't have been so great though considering how quickly they get clogged. In my dispenser tank, I have to take a small wire and clean out the siphon holes every so often. I also like using liquid fab softener and it gets gummed up pretty quickly as well. But I still hear the words of the older gentleman who saved this machine for me saying "people used to complain about the dispenser but all you have to do is rinse it out once a month and its never given me any problems." I love that he cared for this machine as much as he did. He also let me know that the mini-basket is great for washing underwear. I just let that one slide as I didn't way to get into it with him. ;-)

My #1 wish lister!

This is the machine that started it all for me when I was a itty-bitty MaytagMan. My Grandmother in Laguna Beach, CA. had this matched set and the dispensing lid had me captivated. I used to fall asleep by the lighted consoles glowing thru the laundry room door. I will, someday, find this machine and then it will have come full circle for me. Thank you for the pics of the dispenser in operation!

Love the GE FilterFlo's.......I have several.....and they have to be the most versatile multi function/use machine around......

between the cycles, wash/spin speeds, water temps, water levels, and that minibasket......the combination for any load is endless.....if your gonna have one machine as a daily driver it should be a GE FF, with a few options, you have everything covered!

that Dispens-All and lighted control has to be the icing on the cake for one of these...

I like your control panel, the mini-quick switch and the seperate controls for wash and spin speed, and temps......variable in any sense....
