Hi!

I’m reworking my 1974 GE Hotpoint Range (Avocado Green) and I’m wanting to line the storage drawers. I thought initially that I’d just line them with some contact paper and be set, but now I’m thinking that might now be a good idea since it is an oven? The drawers are in good shape just a few spots of rust that I’m planning on hitting with some ospho rust converter, but I’d still like to line them. So, I guess the question is, do we think that contact paper would be ok in the storage drawers, or is there another suggestion as to what I could line them with?

Thanks in advance for your help!

**Please note that these are 100% storage drawers, the only heat they would be getting would be radiating from the oven or the eyes when they are in use.

Drawers on ranges like this one were never designed to be and weren't promoted as 'warming drawers'.  They are strictly storage drawers/spaces.  The drawers are not sealed compartments but are open to everything under and behind the range.  I don't think they would be a very food-friendly environment or a place to keep prepared food warm.
