GE Top Loading Portable DW

Cool, to see a slightly different version of this DW. It looks to have a different heating element in it and since it was built for 50 cycle power if someone used here in the states on 60 cycle power it might actually wash better with a 15% boost in motor speed.

This machine has water heating capabilities from the looks of that Calrod. Remarkable lack of rust.

I remember seeing GE TL portables in George's Appliance Stores up here in 1976, but it must have been near the end.

2000 Watt element

From the data plate it has a max draw of 10 amps. So I would say the heater element would be more powerful than its US cousin's one.

They were certainly on their way out...I think that when they went to plastic tubs at Louisville that was the end of the top loading GE/HP dishwashers...don't think they ever made a HP (porcelain) TL dishwasher. I remember seeing these at Famous-Barr in St. Louis (Crestwood Plaza) in about 1976.
