I have a year old (2024) Speed Queen TC5000WN Classic top-load. I use the machine twice a month. I always turn the water off when I'm not using the machine to relieve the water pressure on the hoses.

I am noticing in between washings, after about a week, a small yellow drop runs down the side of the tub to the bottom. It looks like some kind of oil. The drop wipes up okay.

I am wondering if this is a defect somewhere inside the machine. I am wondering if this should be looked at by a technician. The machine has a 5 year warranty.

Yes, I can provide that.

It's a small drop of fluid that seems to come out of one of the holes in the side of the stainless tub and runs down to the bottom of the tub.

It's a retirement park with condos that were built around 1988.

As for the plumbing system, I would have to ask someone about the specific materials used.

If galvanized pipes are the culprit, I can stop wondering if it's a defective washing machine.

Galvanized pipes weren't used in 1988 unless the builder was extremely shady and paid off the inspector.

I know Speed Queen uses water in their balance ring. Perhaps it's leaking? Anyone know if they tint the water a yellow color?

I'll look again this weekend when I do load of laundry. It seems to be an oily fluid.

What's weird is there is such a small amount of the liquid. You can see where it ran down the side of the tub to the bottom.

I will try to get to some pictures this time.
