I've asked this question before but I've never gotten an answer: when a Whirlpool/Kenmore dryer has spots like this one does where the paint/finish has worn away, is there a way to repaint it or is this a baked-on finish?
see thread 66086. Sorry I'm not very good at putting links in a post. Im not say the CL is bad but don't i remember some issue with the seller from the above mentioned post?
My Calypso dryer has a blue coloring that seems to be stained on the back of the drum. Is that pretty much a permanent stain? Or is there a way to remove it without painting it?
Phil.....that blue coloring usually comes from drying blue jeans washed in cold water....
most times if its light enough, with normal use it will return to white.....but this does involve washing in warm/hot water from now on......
I have seen some so dark, there is no return to the original color....a lot of times this blue in the dryer tells you a lot about the washing habits of the owner, not to mention the condition you would find the washer in.....
Martin...I was thinking...a few years ago someone explained the cause and I thought of you. Thank you! I'll try washing it, but as it is..it's not really so dark (photo). I'll live withit...appreciate your help as always
