1978 Maytag DE308 White

Does anybody out there have a burning need for a Maytag DE308 dryer c.1978? Will try to take some pictures today for posting.
My mom is selling her house soon and it's in the basement. I'm opening a small can of worms here, because I'm going to have to replace the dryer with something else. As it is, there's a KitchenAid Patrician DW (KDP-18) also c. 1978 that still works and looks like new that I can't bring myself to allow to go with the house because I know it'll end up in the town dump the next day. Replacing it will be a bitch and my family will have a s--- fit when they find out.

Ken, forgive me, but I have to know. Did you find a home for that beautiful dryer? The like new Kitchen-Aid? And whats the story with the Filter Flo? Was there a washer in its place older than 1978 and it was replaced by the FF in the late 80s? Or did your mom buy them as a set and the Maytag dependable care washer gave out only after 10 year? Why did your mom choose a Filter Flo over a Maytag Dependable care?  Or Whirlpool BD/DD?

 

 

That washer dryer combo is definitely fun and I'm sure there is some interesting history behind it.
