Hi everyone! As you may know, I bought a 1978 Maytag A208 and DE408 a little over a year ago. I finished the washer a few months back, but just finished up the dryer earlier this week. I didn't go nearly as far with it as I did with the washer, but I've inspected everything, and repaired what was broken. I did, however, add a relay for the heater to take the 20+ amp load off of the timer. In doing so, I was forced to move the buzzer to the other side of the control panel to make the relay fit. I also resprayed the control panel to match the washer, and got a new lint screen, as the old one had a hole in it. Other than that, it was a pretty standard rebuild; new felt seals, new drum glides, new drum rollers, a new idler wheel, and a new belt. Here's a few before pictures of the machine.
Thanks,
Thatwasherguy.

Nice! I am trying to do something similar with my Maytag DE306 (which I believe you may have seen a few weeks ago) but the most difficult part will be finding an 808 console since I’ve looked everywhere for one but can’t seem to locate one but I am sure with a little patience and persistence I’ll find one eventually. Currently in the process of replacing the high limit thermostat (which should arrive in the next few days) since I might as well replace something like that while it’s all apart.

Old thread

But do you happen to have a wiring diagram/schematic for your Maytag DE408 or not? Will probably need it since I will need to wire up the Maytag dryer I am putting together, will be the same but in the HOH format.

You can post the wiring diagram here or send it to my email, which ever one is easiest. By the way, is your email working? Tried replying to the email you sent me but keep on getting a error since it says not able to connect to server or something.

Update, figured out what was going on with my email. Turns out it was something on my end since Apple only lets you respond so many times to a email before it won’t let you anymore.
