1999 Washer won't spin

1999 Whirlpoool washer model # LRS72338Q0. The unit washes fine but only buzzes in the control panel when it comes time to spin. I noticed that the door switch mount was also broke. I know this machine will not spin if the lid is open so I held the switch button down and it still will only buzz during spin cycle.

Could be any number of things. Most likely a motor start switch or a timer contact issue.

Ok i am going to assume that its a timer type WP Direct Drive. So. If you are hearing no noise out the motor you might wanna check your Lid switch first and asure it is makeing contact. Once you do that your going to wanna check out the motors connection. over the years it works its way lose. Now If it drains water but fails to move the basket and wont adj will= motor coupler If it adjs but wont spin=Clutch. All asume that the motor is on and the water drains. Hope this helps. Kinda taken a pot shot in the dark at what you wrote
