Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

WESTINGHOUSE twintub? Not the first time it's happened here, but I did NOT see that coming.

Can say, Panasonic's TT mechanical design was very straightforward in 1973. One belt for wash, pump and spin were DD.

Got links for those? No idea what year either is. Microprocessors didn't run washers in 1973 that's for sure. Can't find any mention of TT on Pana's site now, but that would figure if it was Pana USA and I can't read Japanese.

Found the Pana, spoze I could get to Brisbane in 4 hours? Oh wait, lemme guess, it's 220V 50Hz.

Could not find the Westy. AU Westinghouse could be completely unrelated to US White Westinghouse. The W name is just something anyone can license.

AU Westinghouse

Hi Arbilab, yes Westinghouse Australia were not associated with White Westinghouse U.S.A. as far as I am aware, it used to owned by a company called Email who I believe sold it out to another mob called Southcorp who took over Hoover and maybe Kelvinator not sure of that, but nowdays all the old Aussie brands are owned by Electrolux.
That is Simpson, Westinghouse, Kelvinator. You cannot buy Hoover in whitegoods any more, you can buy Hoover vacuum cleaners but they are exclusive to Godfreys I think.

Forgot about that range

The Panasonic Twin tub is now at Mums :) I didnt have the camera with me unfortunately.

It has either in the washbowl overflow rinsing, or spin rinsing. For both of these, it has overflow ports into the wash tub to show you if the water pressure is too high.

The agitation action is different to what I'm used to, its a full width impellor with a short post. It reverses direction every 5 seconds or so. I was expecting the 30sec in one direction before reversing. I did a load of dog blankets yesterday, they came out untangled, although at times it did sound a bit like it was bogging down under the load.

It has a nice big spin can and a relatively effective filter. The spin rinsing ran until the water was clear and it took less than the 5 mins.

The buttons are as follows
Pause/resume
Mode - Wash/Wash & Overflow rinse/Drain
Wash Action - Heavy/Regular/Gentle
Wash Time - 2/5/10/15min
Spin - 15sc/1/3/5min

It has a bleach inlet, a hose connector to divert between the washtub and spinner and a seperate mechanical power switch.

There's no country of origin on it, so I dont know if its early enough to be Japan, or whether its Malaysia or China.

If Pana still sold twins in US I would have one. I have a Frigiwhite FL but other than running 14 years it's no big whoop. I love twins since grandma's Easy in the early 50s.
