What a handsome bunch of people you all are! :- <br
Big thanks are overdue and should go to Matt for putting my photo up. :-) Thanks, Matt! :-) And thank you, also, for the nice comments made. :- <br
Regarding my appearance, thankfully, I do not have any facial disfigurements or anything like that, so I have nothing to worry about actually, but my main reasons for being a little conscious of my appearance are that I can’t dress in a particularly smart way – it’s all T-shirts and trousers/pants. Secondly, I always have a somewhat swollen neck and lower jaw because of my condition (swollen glands). That is because my immune system is basically stuck in a high gear for much of the time, but my face does not look that swollen anyway – it’s just more obvious when I put my into a certain position. I am not being vain at all, but the swollen neck does actually hurt – it’s sore. My doctors can tell a lot from my condition based on how my glands feel! LOL :- <br
I had that photo taken because that really is me at my best, even if I did need a shave! :-) I do look like I do in the photo much of the time, but it’s sometimes difficult to photograph me because, again, my swollen neck becomes somewhat obvious, and I end up looking somewhat unwell, but it’s not too bad at times, as the photo above shows. :- <br
Anyway, thank you very much. :- <br
Take care. :- <br
Regards <br
Carl :-

Following on from what I said about facial disfigurements, I hope I did not give the impression that those with them have something to feel ashamed of. They most certainly do not <br
The only problems I have had with my appearance are severe eczema on my face and body (not so bad now and dealt with by creams!) and a problem I still have with my jaw that’s related to my condition that caused the lower jaw to shift markedly to one side, leaving me with a distorted face and in terrible pain for several weeks. Even now, I end up with problems, including pain, at times in making facial expressions, so I can end up with a perhaps rather odd looking smile that resembles someone gritting their teeth! :-) Have to laugh, really, because <br
… I knew some pupils at school with some disfigurements and disabilities that caused problems with their appearance, and I can honestly say that I was completely unmoved in a positive way. Many do not want sympathy at all – they just want to get on. The fact is that, like Matt said – and I’ve always believed this – what matters is how we are inside and in what we say and do <br
Back to more photos now. :-) C’mon, people – I know many on here who haven’t added theirs yet! :- <br
Take care. :- <br
Regards <br
Carl :-

I hear the tap...tap...tapping!

I guess the old saying holds true here..."better late than never" LOL Here is a picture of me taken today with my favorite cold beverage and my latest find a 1970 Kenmore with SRS agitator after its restoration <br

Dennis, I've been looking for that washer ever since I joined in 1999. THAT is the washer that was on sale that I wanted my parents to get when the 1964 Norge DispensoMat finally cratered. It had every feature I wanted. But mom wanted something a little more spiffy looking and upscale I guess, that's how we ended up with the 800 (Jason are you paying attention?) Oh, and handsome man Dennis!
