It is actually just 21" wide, GE called these ranges Mark-21.

Thanks for the info. I actually have one of these (turquoise and a 3 vs. 4 burner), but I don't think I ever measured it. I knew it was a "Mark" something, but didn't realize the number corresponded with the size.
