As some of you know, I have been working on the proto-types for a coming Great American Blue Collar Public Art Project(tm) using mainly found objects. I have done a Roadster, a Biplane and am working on the locomotive. Each starts with an 18" diameter tube. Metal spiral tube in the case of the Roadster and Locomotive and sonotube (concrete form) in the case of the biplane. Here is a pic of the locomotive (under construction). Recognize any of the parts?

Amazing Mark, I am always so impressed with your talent! In answer to your question, Why it is a waffle iron of course!!!

4-2-2 Locomotove parts list

Terry,
I should have known nothing slips by you.

The parts: The tank, of course, is 4 feet of spiral tube like used for heating and air conditioning venting. The “Cab” of the locomotive is from an old furnace that my legal assistant’s husband dropped by. The cab roof is more spiral tube. The drive wheels (and trailing wheels) are, of course, a wheel chair. The front 4 wheels are a lot like a buggy, but in this case, were a buggy-like seat (kind of a wheel chair) for a special needs child. The front of the tank is held up by a metal case from a DeWalt drill driver. Toaster for the dome. Collander on the stack. The headlight is one of those ankle things to hold you upside down when you are working out. An attorney friend was going to toss them out but thought I might be able to use them. (I am sorry to say he is not longer living). The front tank cover is a large pot cover. As Terry notes, the nose thingie is a waffle iron. The cow catcher (I still need to install) is the only “new” item and is a leaf rake. The piston sleeves are just insulated stove pipe (as well as the stack). I am looking for a bell to mount ahead of the dome and behind the stack.
