Hi Guys - I just talked too a friends mother and she has a near mint condition 40" white Hotpoint Range with the lighted controls, plug and all the bells and whistles here in PA. She's getting a new one on Monday or tuesday and if I can save this from the crusher I thought I'd try - contact me if you want to come get it - I have no pics - but she says it perfect and so does her daughter. Throw her a couple of bucks to make her happy and its yours- I'd take it but I don't have anywhere to put it!

Matthew, Can you get anything like a model #? Does it have pushbutton surface unit switches? If so, how are they arranged; 4 vertical columns, 2 horizontal rows or in a single row along the back? Is it a single or double oven? Is the master (or main) oven wider than the oven or storage compartment next to it or are they both the same width? Are the oven liners black or gray? Does it have a deepwell? It is wonderful to want to save this and you are to be congratulated, but there are a lot of Hotpoint 40 inch ranges and some information would be helpful before any of us decides to make a trip of more than an hour to see if we want it. Do they remember when they got the range or can they associate its arrival with some family even which could help them date it or an historical event or period from which we could figure out a date and model or style? If you could call them to try to answer some of these questions, I will send you a check to pay for the call. Finally, did they get the stove in your lifetime or is it older than you? Thanks, Tom
