hi, thinking of buying new whirlpool TL wtw5310. Would appreciate any advice. Looks like direct drive using coupler.
Sells at costco for $379.

I highly recommend the Whirlpool direct drive washer; should be super capacity with dual action agitator. Can't beat it for the price.

Is the painted (non porcelain) top subject to rust ??

These do get clothes real clean but be aware that they can tare up things too.I had one of the newer Maytags made by Whirlpool and took it back.It had torn up 3 of my favorite shirts.It also made my hot wash a warm one.It had a feature where it "sensed" the temperature of the incoming water and would add hot or cold water to adjust the temperature.When I wash with hot water,I want hot water not warm.It was adding cold water to the hot water.At $339,I thought I got a great deal but the aftermath was what made me decide to return it.The other feature that I realy hated was their new lid switch.It stops all functions and is so far back on the left side of the rear of the top that you can barely reach it.When you do,it's hard to keep it going.If they decide to make their door switches that difficult to get to,they need to put a window on their lids.
