Merit

There once was a MERIT Corporation in Chicago. I doubt that this mixer is related (but ya never know).
MERIT of Chicago made flybacks and yokes.
... Compare it... with MERIT...
Does your mixer make any reference to CHICAGO?

BTW - I LOVE the "DYNA-TORQUE".
"Gee Janice, your cakes are SOOOO much better recently. By any chance do you have a DYNA-TORQUE mixer? You sure can tell! Aunt Jennie would be proud! "

Merit Enterprises, Inc., is out of Brooklyn, New York.

It's not really readable, bu the last line on the top of the box says, "The only 130 watt portable mixer"

Unfortunately the owner's manual is not with the mixer... probably would make fun reading as well, especially if it included recipes for "Dyna-Torque Super Power Cupcakes"... The emphasis on motor power leads me to believe that the resemblance of the mixer to an outboard motor (and the use of a very famous name in outboard motors) might not be coincidental.

ooooh 130 watts!

"WATTS your secret to delicious cakes?" Asks Jeanette.
"A good houseperson watches watts! A full 130 WATT motor in my DYNA-TORQUE mixer and nothing less!" Janice ejaculates back.
Persisting, Jeanette asks "But what do watts do?"
Janice responds, " I asked the same thing to the salesperson. I found out that 40 watt DYNA-TORQUE motor and 90 watt dropping resistor work together to cream butter better."
Jeanette sulks away erroneously wishing she were as smart as Janice.

I think you are confusing the Dyna Torque motor.....

With Dyna-Float shock absorbers that were found on Kiekhaffer Mercury Outboard Motors. I also think that it is just a coincidencde that the mixer is named Mercury PAT

Oh. and don't forget...the could be stealing the name fr

the Mercury car....after all that mixer kind of reminds me of a mid 1960's Mercury Comet. PAT

Cool mixer! With Dyna-Torque, no less!

Merit also made "Lady Vanity" appliances, a sort of "drug store" brand.

This must be a fairly early model--later ones said "Another Quality Product of Merit", rather than "by".

Lot of quotation marks in this post!
