Mansfield home of Westinghouse
This is my home town. If anyone needs help with this let me know. I would think about it for myself but want to save room for either Frig set or combo. At one time everyone around here either worked at or knew someone who worked at westinghouse, so everyone thought the appliances were -throw a way- if it broke down just run to the Westinghouse store and get a newer model. They were very reasonably priced (especially if you got the employee discount)and scratch and dent models were practical given away to employees. Employees also would "find" appliances on the loading docks or scavage parts for entire machines. I can't tell you the number of stories I have heard about entire basements full of westinghouse appliances that got sent to the scrap yard when the old folks sold there homes and the new owners didn't want the old junk taking up room. (my own cousins did this to about 12 or 13 old/new washers and dryers when they got there new house (this was before they knew i would have given anything for them),I found out about it a family reunion when they were complaining about thier backs hurting from hauling all that junk to the dump! Because of all this it is harder than you might think to find vintage appliances here, but I keep looking!!
