60s GE round top refrig in avocado- NJ that "needs TLC"

1. a round top that's avocado?  It seems like there's a ten year age gap between those two things.   Painted after market? 

 

2.   TLC !    Since when is major rust removal done with simple TLC?

Circa 1950

This style was made between 1947 & 1952, so was a minimum of nearly 15 years before the introduction of Avocado (1966). A lot of people painted their old appliances to match a new item they purchased.

No wonder the shelves sag on this thing.  It was likely a family's daily driver until avocado went out of style some 30 years later.
